The Interior Ministry warned about fraudsters under the guise of the military prosecutor's office

Recently, cases of fraudsters communicating with Russian citizens on behalf of the military prosecutor's office have become more frequent. On May 4, the press service of the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia informed about this.

"Scammers contact citizens on behalf of the military prosecutor's office and intimidate them that fraudsters have gained access to their bank accounts. In order to avoid transfer [to] The attackers offer to withdraw money from citizens' bank accounts and transfer it to a courier so that the latter can place it in a specially opened safe deposit box for safekeeping," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to law enforcement agencies, the military prosecutor's office monitors the implementation of the law in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and military formations. That is why employees of the military prosecutor's office will never call citizens for the above reasons and demand to transfer funds to the courier.

The department also recommended that if such calls are received, do not respond to the provocation, put down the phone, and also do not give money and various valuables to anyone.

On May 3, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported on a fraudulent scheme in which receipts are forged to pay fines for traffic violations, which were allegedly recorded by cameras. The Interior Ministry advised that if such a document is found, immediately contact the police.
