"We are participating in a race dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. It's important to me because I honor my grandfathers. I have a grandfather who fought in the Red Army, he went through the Finnish War. And it's important to me. I want my children to know. We visit the cemetery periodically, and there is a monument to concentration camp prisoners, both Russian and Polish," said Sergei Ekerman, a participant in the rally.
According to the man, this event is highly appreciated in his family, he also expressed recognition for the fact that promotional events are held in Cologne. At the same time, Ackerman noted that Berlin has problems with holding a Victory Day rally due to different political positions.
However, despite this, many Germans support such initiatives and take part in Russian holidays. The participant of the rally added that the demonstrations attract the public, so that people do not forget past events and treat them with respect.
Ackerman paid special attention to the younger generation, who also takes Victory celebrations seriously and understands the goals of such events.
On May 2, the largest motor rally in honor of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War started in Israel. It was noted that the route started in the city of Metula and ended in Eilat. Vakhtang Tsintsadze, a participant in the event, stressed that the main purpose of the action is to honor the memory of those who won and to inform the younger generation about the heroism shown 80 years ago.
