The media reported an attack on the chairman of the opposition party of Turkey Ozel

In Istanbul, an unknown assailant attacked the chairman of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) of Turkey, Ozgur Ozel. This was reported on May 4 by the Haberturk TV channel.
"Ozel was attacked after a ceremony held at the Ataturk Cultural Center. <...> An unknown person hit Ozel," the newspaper points out.
It is specified that the attacker is Selcuk Tengioglu, who was convicted three times, and he was detained. Istanbul's Main Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
According to Haberturk, after the attack, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a telephone conversation with the chairman of the CHP, noted that he was closely following the investigation process.
In March, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced that the country's Minister of Culture, Nikola Selakovic, had been attacked amid mass protests. According to the Serbian leader, the protesters once again showed that they do not really think about democracy in the country, and demonstrated their true attitude towards people who think differently from them.
