- The creators of "Operation Carpathians" talked about the plot of the continuation of the series

The second part of the action-packed series "Operation Carpathians" will tell about the fight against the Nazi underground, which was conducted by the Soviet special services after the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War. The creators of the series told the details of the sequel on May 4.
The main events will take place in the west of Ukraine. A Soviet intelligence officer engages in a dangerous battle with Bandera, who are trying to provoke a popular uprising. However, it later turns out that he has other opponents.
"The gold that Bandera's men are supposed to steal from a refinery in the Carpathian Mountains. The minimum goal is to expose the Soviet state to Western partners, the maximum goal is to cause famine and rebellion among the population of western Ukraine," said Tim Shevtsov, the general producer of the project.
The premiere will keep the viewer in suspense, as the main character will have to face not only Bandera and their curators from the British MI6, but also enemies inside the Ministry of State Security. The series is based on real historical events.
"The remnants of the OUN UPA (an extremist organization banned in Russia. — Ed.) were distributed in caches and tried to carry out acts of terror against the Soviet government and those who supported it. Young teachers were killed, Communists were killed," said Alexander Makushin, a historian and expert at the Russian Military Historical Society.
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Yuri Nifontov also noted that since the series is based on historical events, people should watch it to know their history.
"We tried to bring something so human here, some love lines, something that looks like life," said director Mikhail Agranovich.
As the creators noted, "Operation Carpathians is not just a spy action game, first of all it is a story about personality transformation, choice of path and duty.
"What's interesting is that everyone's character has changed a lot. I meet Angelina, but she's still not the same, she's like Angelina, but something has changed and subtly, it's not clear what exactly," actor Vladimir Verevochkin shared.
On April 30, the actor of Operation Carpathians, Alexander Loye, revealed the secret of the second part of the film — it will be related to the relationship of the characters. According to the actor, the second season of the series will feature espionage intrigues and the secrets of the gangster underground. Viewers will see how enemy special services will infiltrate the authorities and begin to undermine the system from the inside.
The premiere of the series "Operation Karpaty – 2" will take place on May 4 at 14:30 on the REN TV channel.
