The Dallas Stars hockey Club defeated the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh game of the first round of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs and advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup. The meeting took place on May 4 in Dallas.

The stadium hosts defeated their opponents 4-2, scoring all four goals in the third period. Mikko Rantanen scored a hat-trick for the winning team, Whitt Johnston scored another goal, and Ilya Lyubushkin scored an assist, writes Sport-Express.

Josh Manson and Nathan McKinnon scored goals for Colorado.

In the second round of the championship, Dallas will face the winners of the St. Louis—Winnipeg game.

On April 30, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils in the second overtime of the fifth game of the first round of the NHL playoffs, advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup. The game ended with a score of 5:4 in favor of Carolina. Striker Sebastian Aho scored the winning goal in the 85th minute of the match.
