Experts talked about the wedding trends of this year

The wedding season is starting in Russia, and the newlyweds are wondering how to make a beautiful and memorable celebration. As Alexey Novoseltsev, the founder of the Novo Wed wedding agency, told Izvestia on May 4, modern weddings focus on details and atmosphere.
"The priority is to find a stylish location and a competent presenter with an interesting program without outdated contests and, of course, not to fly into space for money. Instead of the standard design, there are textures, a bold mix of styles and fresh flowers. And through the concept of a wedding, couples strive to reflect a personal love story, character, common interests and hobbies," he shared.
According to him, outdoor weddings have been one of the most frequent requests lately. So, the newlyweds want to take their friends and family out of the city. A big plus of this approach is the opportunity to stay overnight in a cozy eco—friendly hotel and spend the second day of the wedding with your loved ones away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The founder of Novo Wed emphasized that the uniqueness of each wedding lies in the details, including those based on the couple's personal history. For example, on the history of dating.
"There was a request for a wedding in nature. During the first meeting, it turned out that the newlyweds' love story began with the movie "Avatar" — they met at the cinema while watching it. That's when the idea arose to make the film part of the wedding concept. A veranda by the lake was chosen as the playground, and the decor was decorated in the spirit of Pandora's magical forest: neon lights, glowing garlands, live plants and compositions in the style of a fantasy world were used. All this created the feeling that the guests had entered another universe," Novoseltsev cited as an example.
The expert added that even the same request — a wedding in nature — sounds different if the focus is not on the format, but on the personal history of the couple.
Alexey Novoseltsev noted that in 2025, the trend for non-standard weddings continues to gain popularity. On such an important day, all the elements — from the decor to the program — should be a reflection of the couple and their love story.
According to wedding organizer Venera Safina, the main trend at weddings lately has been an emphasis on each guest, a desire to pay attention to everyone and show how important and valuable they are to the newlyweds.
