India said that the Pakistani military violated the ceasefire regime on the border for the 10th day in a row. This was reported on Sunday, May 4, by the Press Trust of India (PTI) information agency, citing sources.

"Pakistani troops continued to fire unprovoked small arms fire in various sectors along the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir," the publication said.

They noted that the Indian army immediately began retaliatory actions.

It is specified that the Pakistani military opened fire in the areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajuri, Mendhar, Nausher, Sunderbani and Akhnura in Jammu and Kashmir.

There is no information about the victims.

Relations between New Delhi and Islamabad worsened after the terrorist attack on April 22 near the Indian city of Pahalgam in the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 27 civilians. Both countries have closed the only common open land border and suspended visas. New Delhi has also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty.

On April 29, Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced India's intention to launch military attacks on the country within 24-36 hours. According to him, any act of aggression will be met with a decisive blow.

On May 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, together with his Indian counterpart Subramaniam Jaishankar, discussed the aggravation of Indian-Pakistani relations during telephone talks. The Russian Foreign Minister called for a settlement of the differences between New Delhi and Islamabad based on the provisions of the Simla Agreement of 1972 and the Lahore Declaration of 1999.
