In some cases, the amount of pension accrued to Russians may decrease. Lyudmila Ivanova-Shvets, Associate Professor of the Department of Human Resource Management at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told the Prime agency about this on May 4.

For example, the amount of payments may be reduced if the conditions for its appointment were initially calculated incorrectly.

"For example, if they counted more work experience, incorrectly took into account the preferential length of service, then after identifying and correcting the inaccuracy, the pension amount may be reduced," she said.

You may also encounter a similar situation when canceling additional payments for the maintenance of a dependent.

"An elderly person has a dependent minor child, for which he receives an additional payment. When he reaches the age of 18, the pensioner is no longer entitled to an additional payment," the associate professor explained.

For pensioners, the risk of lower charges may be relevant when moving to another region where lower surcharges are provided.

"If an elderly person moves from non—working status to working status, a regional supplement may be excluded, since the total income of an employed pensioner is usually higher than the subsistence minimum," the specialist said.

If there is a writ of execution, a certain amount may be deducted from the accrued pension to repay the debt. However, it cannot be more than 50% of the amount of payments received. This value can be increased to 70% if the amount is used for alimony, compensation for damage to health, monetary compensation to a family that has lost a breadwinner as a result of the actions of a pensioner, as well as compensation for damage suffered by victims as a result of a crime committed against them.

Earlier, on April 27, Professor Vinogradov told the Russians about the legal ways to increase pensions. He clarified that if a person files a pension five years after reaching retirement age, the coefficient of increase in the fixed payment will be 1.36, and the points awarded will be 1.45. However, if you wait 10 years for the registration, the coefficient and pension points may increase to 2.11 and 2.32 points, respectively.
