Five people have been arrested in the UK on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack.

British police have detained five people, including four ethnic Iranians, on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack. This was announced on Sunday, May 4, by the police press service.

"Police in the framework of the fight against terrorism have arrested five people as part of a proactive investigation conducted by the Metropolitan Police Department for Combating Terrorism," the statement said.

Police are also conducting searches in London, Swindon and Greater Manchester as part of the investigation.

The police allege that the detainees were planning an attack on an unnamed "premises."

Earlier, on April 28, the media reported that at least 26 people were killed in Nigeria as a result of a homemade bomb explosion. It is specified that the explosive device was detonated in Borno State in the northeast of the country.
