The Immortal Regiment campaign was held in Washington for the first time in six years

The Immortal Regiment action took place in Washington on May 3 for the first time after a six-year hiatus. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on May 4.
"It is very important to organize such marches of the Immortal Regiment so that our children and grandchildren, who were born here, know what our grandfathers did," said Nelly, a participant in the march.
The second interviewee, Tatiana, added that the event is important so that the next generation knows the real story, and not the one being rewritten by the West.
"We are glad that, finally, for the first time in six years, the Immortal Regiment campaign is taking place in Washington. Of course, we couldn't help but come that day," said Irina, another participant in the march.
During the ceremony, compatriots from different states of the country laid flowers at the memorial inscription "Murmansk" and at the bas-relief "Meeting on the Elbe".
The American orchestra also performed the songs "March of the Slavs", "Katyusha" and "Victory Day" at the event.
Earlier in the day, it became known that Ukrainian provocateurs came to the Immortal Regiment rally in Washington and tried to disrupt the event. The gathered Ukrainians waved blue and yellow flags, chanted slogans and prevented a peaceful demonstration.
