The president of Mexico opposed the deployment of US troops in the country

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Saturday, May 3, that she would not allow the deployment of US troops in her country.
This is how she responded to the proposal of American President Donald Trump to send American troops to the country to fight drug cartels.
"No, President Trump, the territory is inviolable, sovereignty is inviolable, sovereignty is not for sale," Sheinbaum was quoted as saying during a speech at the opening of the university in the Texcoco metropolitan area.
According to her, cooperation between Mexico and the United States is possible, but only if each country operates on its own territory.
On March 4, Sheinbaum announced that Mexico would impose retaliatory trade duties against the United States. She added that the country always remains and strives to negotiate with the American authorities. According to her, the country's leadership has always offered negotiations.
