Warplanes of the international coalition led by the United States destroyed the infrastructure near the base at the Omar oil field in Syria. This was reported on May 3 by the Syria TV channel, citing sources.

"The planes of the international coalition destroyed the infrastructure near the base at the Omar oil field in the east of Deir ez-Zor," the publication says.

It is clarified that the destroyed infrastructure was previously used by US troops before their evacuation from the region.

On May 3, Al Arabiya reported on the withdrawal of US troops from the Al-Omar and Konoko oil fields in the province of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria. The American troops withdrew all their soldiers from the Konoko and Omar ranges. There are only about 50 soldiers and officers left on the last one. These two bases are among the largest U.S. bases in eastern Syria, the newspaper said.

On April 18, the Pentagon confirmed a reduction in the number of US troops in Syria to less than 1,000 in the coming months. In a statement, the US Department of Defense noted that over the past 10 years, the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS (IS, an organization recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) has achieved significant success.
