The prosecutor's office of the Nizhny Novgorod region organized an inspection after the wolf escaped from the enclosure at the zoo. This was reported on the agency's website on May 3.

According to media reports, the animal escaped from the enclosure at the Limpopo Zoo in Nizhny Novgorod. It was noted that the visitors were evacuated, and the predator returned to the cage after a while. No one was injured in the incident.

"On this fact, the prosecutor's office has organized a review of the implementation of legislation in the provision of services. If there are grounds, the issue of taking response measures will be considered," the ministry said in a statement.

On the same day, zoo owner Savely told Izvestia the details of the incident involving a tigress attacking an employee of the institution. According to him, the animals were provided with adequate nutrition and there had been no problems with keeping tigers before.
