Netanyahu rescheduled his visit to Azerbaijan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has cancelled his visit to Baku scheduled for May 7-11. This was reported on May 3 by The Times of Israel newspaper.
"In light of the events in the Gaza Strip and Syria, as well as due to the busy political schedule <...>, Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided to postpone his visit to Azerbaijan," the newspaper reports the text of a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office.
It is noted that Netanyahu thanks Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the invitation and highly appreciates the bilateral relations between the states.
Earlier in the day, Ankara recalled that Turkey had closed its airspace to Israeli aircraft, which excludes the possibility of Netanyahu's flight over the republic for his visit to Azerbaijan. It is clarified that this decision was made in response to Israel's policy towards the Gaza Strip.
