On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day on May 3, the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations opened the exhibition "They Died for the Truth", dedicated to the fate of photographers, cameramen and military officers who died in the performance of their professional duties from the actions of Ukrainian militants.

It is noted that each stand tells the story of a journalist who brought the truth about real events in Ukraine.

"All these heroes have one thing in common — they, no matter what, remained on the front line, defended our right to receive reliable information. We will continue to seek condemnation from relevant international organizations and structures of all crimes of the Kiev regime against Russian journalists," the permanent mission wrote on its Telegram channel.

The project was initiated by the news agencies of Donbass and Novorossiya — the Lugansk Information Center, the Donetsk News Agency, the Kherson News Agency and the Zaporizhia News Agency — together with Alexander Malkevich, a member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC). To date, the project contains information about 61 journalists.

On April 28, it was reported that a portrait of Izvestia war correspondent Semyon Yeremin, who died in the special military operation zone, was presented at an exhibition of materials from the special project "They Died for the Truth" in Ankara.
