The Immortal Regiment campaign was held in Beijing

An action "Immortal Regiment" was held in the Chinese capital Beijing, and several hundred Russians and Chinese citizens took part in it. This was announced on May 3 at the Russian House in Beijing.

It is noted that the event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) was held on the territory of the Russian Embassy in China. The march was led by Ambassador Igor Morgulov.

Citizens of Belarus also joined the action. According to the Russian House, the organizers received applications for participation from about 800 people living outside the embassy, and more than 100 applications from those who are located on its territory.

The "Immortal Regiment" was supported by the Chinese volunteer group of lovers of culture and history of Russia "Moscow – Beijing".

Earlier, plans to hold an action "Immortal Regiment", dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory, were also announced in Slovakia, Serbia and Moldova.

In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January 1945, the Soviet army launched an offensive against Berlin. As a result of the fighting, at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed the act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the war.
