The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to open a criminal case in connection with the act of vandalism against the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in the Kamchia region of Bulgaria. This was reported on May 3 in the press service of the department.
"The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed to open a criminal case in connection with the desecration of the memorial to Soviet soldiers in Bulgaria," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that a marble slab with an inscription is broken on the monument, and it is also doused with paint.
Currently, the head of the Investigative Committee has instructed to open a criminal case and, together with the Russian Foreign Ministry, establish all the circumstances of the incident.
The fact that unknown persons committed an act of vandalism against the memorial to Soviet soldiers in Bulgaria became known on May 2. The vandals targeted a monument to Bulgarian underground fighters and Soviet submariners, the crew of the Shch-211 boat in the Kamchia area.
