The United States has canceled the visa-free regime with Romania

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday, May 2, announced the cancellation of the visa waiver program for Romania.
"Despite the security concerns, [former President Joe] Biden's administration designated Romania as a visa-free entry country on January 9, 2025. On March 25, 2025, DHS suspended the visa waiver program in order to verify Romania's status," the statement said.
DHS has completed the review and Romania's status has been revoked. Romania may be re-considered for inclusion in the program in the future if it meets the eligibility criteria.
Earlier, on April 22, Izvestia reported that Russia and Oman had signed an agreement on the mutual abolition of the visa regime for citizens of the two countries. Each party grants citizens of the other party's State the right to stay in its territory without a visa for 30 days each time they visit. However, the total period of stay in the country should not exceed 90 days in one year. The visa-free regime does not apply to those entering for permanent residence, study or work.
