Seven people were killed in a collision between a tourist van and a pickup truck near Yellowstone National Park in Idaho, USA. This was reported on May 2 by The New York Times (NYT).

"Six of the victims were in a Mercedes van with 14 people in it," the newspaper said.

The collision occurred on the US 20 highway near Lake Henry, a popular tourist destination. All six victims in the van were foreign tourists. At least two of them were from Italy. They were all in the same tour group that traveled through Yellowstone.

"State police reported that the US 20 highway in the United States was closed for almost seven hours while rescuers and the Idaho Department of Transportation worked to eliminate the consequences of the accident and clear the roadway," the newspaper informs.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated.

Earlier, on April 22, 11 children were injured in an accident involving a car and a bus in the Leningrad region. The accident occurred on the 9th km of the Siverskaya – Druzhnaya Gorka – Kurovitsy highway. It was established that the driver of a Renault Logan foreign car, following from the village of Druzhnaya Gorka in the direction of Orlino, hit the oncoming lane.
