Russian diplomats commemorate Soviet prisoners of war in Norway


Russian diplomats laid flowers on the graves of Soviet soldiers buried in Norway. This was announced on Saturday, May 3, by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The diplomats of the Embassy paid tribute to the memory of Soviet prisoners of war shot by the Nazis in 1942 and buried in Oredalen <...> The staff of the Russian diplomatic mission also visited the burial of Soviet prisoners of war at the Nedre Gravlund cemetery in the city of Aalesund and laid flowers," the Telegram channel of the ministry said.
They added that on the same day, flowers were laid at the graves of two Soviet soldiers, Alexander Kalistratov and Ivan Alexandrov, in the village of Gjevik and Soviet soldier Vasily Karabanov in the town of Elverum.
All the events were dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
On May 1, a giant Victory Banner was raised in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony was attended by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil, Minister of Tourism Leticia Gomez, Minister of Culture Ernesto Villegas, Defender of the People Alfredo Ruiz, as well as representatives of other ministries and departments of the country.
