46-year-old legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao will resume his career


Former world champion in eight weight categories 46-year-old boxer Manny Pacquiao will resume his career. This was announced on Friday, May 2, by the president of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Mauricio Suleiman.
In July, the athlete will have a welterweight title fight with American Mario Barrios. According to Suleiman, the Filipino received the doctors' permission to fight.
"It's going to be an amazing fight! Final preparations are underway in Africa, in Guinea," Suleiman said in an interview with Boxing King Media's YouTube channel.
In his last fight, Pacquiao lost to Cuban Yordenis Ugas by unanimous decision. The fight took place on August 21, 2021 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Earlier, on March 31, Nigerian boxer Gabriel Olanrevaju died after a fight in Ghana. The Ghana Boxing Department reported that after providing first aid, the athlete was taken to the Korle Bu Training Hospital. He was pronounced dead half an hour after arrival.
