The Chadian armed Forces intercepted a convoy of militants who were trying to break through the state border from Sudan. This was reported on May 2 by the Alwihda portal with reference to representatives of the army.
"The General Staff of the Armed Forces reports that an armed group traveling from Darfur was intercepted by our units at the Baha'i border post. These elements have been disarmed and are currently under the control of our forces," the publication says.
It is also reported that Sudanese who are in refugee status in Chad will be transferred to the National Commission for the Reception and Reintegration of Refugees and Returnees (CNARR) "for registration."
"The defense and security forces deployed at the borders are working day and night to stop any infiltration, no matter where it comes from," the Chadian Armed Forces headquarters concluded.
On January 8, a shooting occurred in Chad near the presidential palace in N'Djamena. The French AFP news agency reported that one person was killed in this attack, and 18 militants were eliminated. In addition, three people from the forces repelling the attack were injured.
Chad's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Adam Beshir Mahamoud, stressed on January 9 that the republic's political stability was safe after the attack.
