International military exercises will be held in Lithuania from May 3 to May 23.

International military exercises Griffin Lightning 2025 will be held in Lithuania from 3 to 23 May. This was announced on Friday, May 2, by the Etaplius portal.

"The most visible part of these exercises for the residents of Lithuania will begin this Saturday (May 3. — Ed.) - flights of German military helicopters in the country's airspace during daylight and dark hours," the publication says.

It is specified that about 30 German-made military helicopters will be deployed during the exercises, in particular, TIGER attack helicopters, NH90 transport helicopters, CH-53 heavy transport helicopters and EC135 light multipurpose helicopters.

As indicated in the publication, the flights will cover most of the territory of Lithuania, including the border areas.

Earlier in the day, the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces announced the start of the Siil 2025 international military exercises near the borders with Russia, which will last from May 5 to May 23. As part of this year's events, special attention will be paid to the deployment of additional allied units to the Republic of Estonia, as well as the reception and integration of these units into the Estonian division.
