The number of people injured when a car hit people in Stuttgart, Germany, on May 2 increased to eight people. This was reported by the city police on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"According to operational data, as a result of the accident <...> eight people were injured, three of them are in serious condition. At least one person needs intensive care," the report says.

It is indicated that emergency services are continuing to work at the scene, while there is no longer any danger to people. According to the investigation, the incident was an ordinary traffic accident.

"At the moment, there is no evidence of an attack or a deliberate act," the police stressed.

It became known about the car hitting pedestrians in Stuttgart earlier in the day. According to police, a Mercedes G-class car drove into a group of people at a pedestrian crossing near a tram stop. The driver of the vehicle was detained by the police.
