The Yemeni rebel movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) announced on May 2 that it had launched a hypersonic ballistic missile attack on Israel's "vital target" in the Haifa area.

"The missile forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces conducted a military operation to strike a vital Israeli enemy facility," the movement wrote on its Telegram channel.

It clarifies that the attack was carried out "as a sign of rejection of Israel's actions in Gaza." According to Ansar Allah, it will continue its operations to support and establish a naval blockade of Israel from the Red and Arabian Seas.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in turn, said in its Telegram channel that it had detected a missile launched from Yemen and sent an interceptor.

On April 26, the Houthis from the ruling Shiite military movement Ansar Allah in northern Yemen announced that they had attacked the Nevatim Air Force base in southern Israel using a hypersonic missile.
