Rockstar Games has announced the postponement of the release date of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI to May 26, 2026. This is stated on May 2 in the developers' statement.

It is specified that the change in terms is related to the desire to achieve the highest quality of the game.

"In every game we release, our goal has always been to exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to ensure the quality you expect and deserve," the publication says.

Representatives of the company expressed regret over the delay and thanked the players for their support and patience. They also promised to provide additional information in the near future.

Previously, the game was scheduled for release in the second half of this year.

Rockstar Games announced the start of work on the sixth part of GTA on February 4, 2022. The next day, Take-Two Interactive's quotes rose by more than 7% amid reports of the development of a new part of Grand Theft Auto.
