The reprint of the Izvestia newspaper dated May 9, 1945 was handed over to the consolidated detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the LPR

A reprint of the May 9, 1945 issue of the Izvestia newspaper was handed over to the combined detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) as part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

It is specified that the issue of the publication contains the text of the act of unconditional surrender of the German armed forces.

On May 1, the Izvestia photo exhibition "War in the Lens", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, opened in parks, squares and historical sites of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The exhibition features such works as the famous photo of a nurse bandaging a soldier by Pavel Troshkin, photographs by Georgy Zelma from Stalingrad, and the chronicle of the life of besieged Leningrad by David Trakhtenberg. The historical footage was taken in Berlin by Anatoly Morozov and Georgy Samsonov.
