Relatives, friends and colleagues of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak paid tribute to his memory at the cemetery in the village of Nizhnegorsky in Crimea. 40 days have passed since the death of the correspondent in the special operation zone in Ukraine.

The priest served a memorial service at the grave of the journalist in the presence of his family and friends. Flowers were laid at Fedorchak's burial, and the crowd brought about a dozen bouquets.

"Yesterday we boarded a car in Lugansk, and the four of us arrived. These are employees of different channels, we are with NTV. Another cameraman arrived, the one who was with Sasha until recently, and has been working with him all this time," said Daniil Levin, a correspondent for the NTV channel.

According to him, all colleagues and friends took Fedorchak's death very tragically, close to their hearts. Memories of the journalist still bring tears to their eyes, and some even dream about him.

"All our last thoughts are about Sasha, and now, after meeting him, about his parents, who, of course, are having a much harder time than we are," the journalist added.

Fedorchak's death in the SVO zone became known on March 24. He worked on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and the Kharkiv region. The last report of the journalist on the situation in Kupyansk direction was aired on March 23. A memorial was erected in the Izvestia News Center building as a sign of mourning for the deceased correspondent.

On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously.
