Igor Molchanov, the former drummer of the Aria band and co-founder of the Master music group, died at the age of 64. This was announced on May 1 by the Telegram channel "Masters".

"We have received sad news from Belgium. Igor Molchanov, the first drummer of the band "Master", has passed away, the message says.

It is indicated that it was Molchanov who proposed the name for the band and participated in the recording of the first two albums — "Master" and "With a noose around his Neck." After the band toured abroad in 1991, he stayed in Belgium.

"We offer our condolences to Igor's loved ones! His contribution to our work will always remain with us!" — it is written in the channel "Masters".

Molchanov began his musical career in 1983 as a member of the Alpha group, where he met the future co-founder of Aria and The Master, Alik Granovsky. Subsequently, the drummer performed with "Aria", taking part in the recording of the band's second album "Who are you with?". A year later, in 1987, Molchanov, Granovsky, Andrei Bolshakov and Kirill Pokrovsky left the band, founding the band "Master". After emigrating to Belgium, the drummer performed in the local band Cryme.
