The Verkhovna Rada is preparing to ratify only one of the three documents on the US investment fund, probably without having access to the full text of the deal. This was announced on May 2 by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

In his Telegram channel, he shared the answers of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal to questions about the deal with Washington. The Head of Government confirmed that ratification is necessary only for one of the documents.

"Only the first one. The following are of an implementation nature and do not require a vote," said Shmygal.

When asked if the deputies would be provided with the texts of other documents, the Ukrainian prime minister did not answer.

Zheleznyak noted that the likely date of ratification of the agreement in the Rada is May 8. He added that the investment fund will be registered in the US state of Delaware, and the account will be opened in Ukraine with replenishment in hryvnias.

On April 30, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington and Kiev had signed an agreement on natural resources and signed a deal to create an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The Sky News channel, citing American sources, suggested that the agreement could be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada within a week.
