A storm warning was announced in Crimea on May 3 due to frosts. This was announced on May 2 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the republic.

"According to the Crimean Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, freezing temperatures of up to minus 2 degrees are expected on the surface of the soil in the steppe and foothill regions of Crimea on the night and morning of May 3," the agency's website says.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that in such conditions there is a high probability of emergencies related to damage to crops and buds of early stone plants. The agency recommended protecting plantings with shelters, avoiding long hikes in mountainous and forested areas at low temperatures, and being careful on the roads.

On the same day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, urged not to expect high temperatures in May, as the positive temperature deviation has already been interrupted. According to him, the average monthly air temperature in most of the Russian Plain, including in the metropolitan region, will be a stretch to meet the climatic norm. Nevertheless, by the end of the month, spring will begin large-scale preparations for the meteorological summer, the forecaster emphasized.
