The Freedom Flotilla coalition ship, carrying humanitarian cargo for the Gaza Strip, began to sink as a result of a drone attack off the coast of Malta. This was reported on May 2 by CNN.

It is specified that there are 30 people from different countries on board the ship.

"There is a hole in the ship now, and the ship is sinking," Yasemin Adjar, the flotilla's press attache, told the TV channel.

According to CNN, a rescue boat from Southern Cyprus was sent to the scene of the incident after receiving SOS signals.

On April 20, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the country would not end the war in the Gaza Strip until it returned the hostages and destroyed the Palestinian radical movement Hamas. According to him, the radical movement demands an end to the war, the preservation of its power and the restoration of Gaza with the attraction of capital, which will allow Hamas to rearm and prepare new attacks on Israelis.
