American singer Jill Sobule died in a fire in the USA


American singer and songwriter Jill Sobule, famous for the song "Supermodel" from the soundtrack to the movie "Clueless", died in a fire in the United States. This was reported on May 2 by The Guardian newspaper.
It is specified that the singer was 66 years old.
"Sobul was a force of nature and a defender of human rights, whose music is woven into our culture. <...> I hope that her music, memory and legacy will continue to live on and inspire others," the publication quotes her manager John Porter as saying.
Sobul was born in 1959 in Denver. She became popular due to her explicit lyrics. Sobul's debut album "Things Here Are Different" was released in 1990. The singer's 1995 album "Jill Sobule" was particularly successful.
