American billionaire and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk will continue to participate in the work of the department, despite the fact that he will reduce his presence in the White House. This was announced on Thursday, May 1, by Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance.

"His role will remain unchanged. He just won't be in Washington every day because he has other responsibilities," Vance said on Fox News.

The vice president of the United States added that thanks to Musk's work, unnecessary expenses have been reduced in the country. However, objectively, DOGE's work can only be evaluated in 2026, Vance said.

On March 21, The Washington Post reported that Musk wants to leave his job in the government because he is tired of criticism from the left. It is specified that his status as a special civil servant expires at the end of May, but it is not yet known whether this period will be extended.

On April 22, the American billionaire announced a reduction in his participation in work at DOGE due to the drop in profits of his company Tesla. On April 30, US President Donald Trump announced that Musk could stay in the administration as long as he wanted.
