Nutritionist and DDX Fitness trainer Artem Opalnitsky on Thursday, May 1, recommended recipes for balanced alternatives to unhealthy snacks during the May holidays.

As Opalnitsky told in an interview with the newspaper.Ru", baked vegetable chips can be an excellent alternative to potato chips, the energy value of which reaches 500 kcal. And vegetable chips are easily digested and rich in vitamins and fiber.

Beer can be replaced with apple kvass. It is lighter and alcohol—free, which guarantees no discomfort the next day and is suitable for everyone, both adults and children, the nutritionist explained.

And the expert suggested replacing the pork shish kebab traditional for the May holidays with a similar one made from chicken with spices and vegetables.

"Unlike pork shish kebab, chicken is much easier to digest, but it retains a high protein content, which has a very beneficial effect on well-being and allows you not to overeat due to the balance of all the necessary trace elements," Opalnitsky said.
