The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Umerov announced the reorganization of the GOT


In Ukraine, the State Logistics Operator (GOT) will be reorganized, which was supposed to be a key element of the reform of defense procurement in the country. This was announced on May 1 by the Minister of Defense of the state Rustem Umerov on the social network Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
"Today, in order to scale up the reforms that have begun, I signed an order to establish a commission for the reorganization of the State Logistics Operator. It will be headed by Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency. — Ed.). The Commission will work on the basis of the EPA," he said.
According to the official, the purpose of the reform is to optimize management and "increase the speed of providing troops." It is clarified that this decision was part of a larger plan to create an effective support system for the army.
The state-owned logistics operator was launched in Ukraine in December 2023. As Umerov noted, due to transparency in procurement, he helped save more than 26 billion hryvnias.
Earlier, on April 23, the Danish government decided to allocate about 317 million kronor ($48.1 million) to Estonia for the purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine. On April 22, it was reported that the United Kingdom had signed contracts worth $40.1 million for the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Kiev. It was clarified that the relevant documents were signed in the framework of cooperation with New Zealand.
