Ukraine reports exhumation of Soviet soldiers' graves in Lviv


The exhumation of the remains of Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of the city during the Great Patriotic War (WWII) has begun in the city of Lviv on the "Hill of Glory". This was reported on May 1 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.Ua».
"More than 220 single and four mass graves are being exhumed," the newspaper's Telegram channel says.
It is specified that by the decision of the city council, the remains will be reburied at the Goloskovsky cemetery.
Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that work had begun in Lviv on the relocation of the Hill of Glory memorial to Soviet soldiers. The work is expected to take about two months. The memorial is one of the largest monuments to Soviet soldiers in western Ukraine.
