The Russian Foreign Ministry has ruled out the possibility of Ukraine returning to the borders of 1991.

Russia will never allow Ukraine to be restored to its 1991 borders. This was announced on May 1 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"It is absolutely obvious that behind the futile and groundless claims of the Kiev regime and the forces supporting it in the West for the so-called restoration of Ukraine within the borders of 1991, there is a cannibalistic instinct to exterminate all Russians. Of course, Russia will never allow such a scenario to happen," the Foreign Ministry wrote on its website, commenting on the Ukrainian strike on the town of Alyoshka in the Kherson region.

The statement also notes that responsibility for the incident lies not only with Kiev, but also with its sponsors, who supply weapons and funds. All those responsible and involved in the "current barbaric action of Kiev" will be identified and will be irrevocably punished by law.

"We call on the entire sane part of the international community and relevant multilateral organizations to strongly condemn this heinous terrorist act," the Foreign Ministry added.

Foreign observers can ensure transparency of all procedures.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the market in Alyoshki, Kherson region, earlier that day. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said that seven people were killed as a result of the Ukrainian attack. As the press service of the head of the Kherson region told Izvestia, the number of injured was 12 people, one of them died on the way to the hospital. Three days of mourning were declared in the Alyoshka municipal district.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case on the attack. The persons involved in the attack on the market in Alyoshki have already been identified. The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, called on the international community to strongly condemn the criminal action of the Kiev regime.
