About 30 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) took part in the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the market in the city of Alyoshki, Kherson region. This was announced on May 1 by the deputy chairman of the regional government, Serey Cherevko.
"There are several — according to preliminary data, about four — attacking waves of FPV drones. In total, about 30 Ukrainian attack UAVs participated in the raid," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The politician noted the feat of doctors, rescuers and law enforcement officers who rushed to help the victims of the attack. According to him, not a single ambulance crew refused to go to the market, despite the threat of new drone strikes and cluster munitions.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' strike on the market in Alyoshki, Kherson region, became known earlier that day. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said that seven people were killed as a result of the Ukrainian attack. As the press service of the head of the Kherson region told Izvestia, the number of injured was 12 people, one of them died on the way to the hospital. Three days of mourning were declared in the Alyoshka municipal district.
The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case on the attack. The persons involved in the attack on the market in Alyoshki are already being identified. The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, called on the international community to strongly condemn the criminal action of the Kiev regime.
