Former US Vice President Kamala Harris called on Americans to rally against the head of the White House, Donald Trump, and his economic policies. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on May 1.

In her first public speech after leaving office as vice president, Harris called the US president's trade decisions the greatest man-made crisis. She accused the Trump administration of supporting the rich and a narrow, self-serving approach to governance.

The politician made her speech at an event in the San Francisco Bay Area organized by Emerge America, an organization that supports the election of Democratic women. Harris noted that "courage is contagious," and praised her colleagues for their moral clarity and determination. In addition, she warned about the possibility of a constitutional crisis in the United States.

The former vice president pointed out the need to "fight" against the Trump administration, noting that during the reign of the American leader, "the situation may worsen before it gets better."

According to Reuters, Harris may run for governor of California in 2026.

The election of the 47th President of the United States took place on November 5, 2024. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Harris received 47.4%. The results of the vote were met with a prolonged ovation at the Trump campaign headquarters. Speaking to supporters, the Republican said that he considers ending military conflicts in the world to be his goal as head of state.

On April 2, Trump announced large-scale measures: base tariffs of 10% are being introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For Europe, this figure has been raised to 20%. In his speech, the president called April 2 the day when Americans will become rich again.
