Washington noted progress in the negotiation process with Russia on Ukraine

Negotiations between Russia and the United States on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine are progressing, a deal on this issue is still possible. This was announced on May 1 by Mike Waltz, National Security adviser to US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News.
"The process is progressing. Sometimes it is accompanied by ups and downs. <...> But we see that the parties are getting closer and closer to a deal," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The adviser stressed that both Russia and Ukraine should strive for peace and achieve a cessation of hostilities.
A day earlier, Trump's special envoy Keith Kellogg announced that Kiev had agreed to 22 terms for resolving the conflict, which the American side presented at the talks in London. According to him, Ukraine and European countries have expressed interest in a 30-day ceasefire.
On April 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that negotiations with the United States on the conflict in Ukraine were moving in the right direction. He recalled that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among other things, expressed the opinion that during the negotiations Washington better understood Moscow's position, as well as the underlying causes of the conflict.
