An attempt was made on the former head of the Odessa cell of the Right Sector (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) Sergey Sternenko. This was reported on May 1 by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

"I was attacked. Wounded. <...> There is no threat to life," he is quoted as saying on the publication's Telegram channel.

Sternenko said that he was attacked by a woman who had already been detained by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The attacker used a firearm.

In July 2024, an attempt was made on the life of former Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Farion in Lviv in western Ukraine, as a result of which one of the bullets hit her in the head. The shooter was wearing gloves, and the weapon was without a silencer. The politician died in the hospital.
