The Immortal Regiment on Transport campaign has started in Moscow and the Moscow Region, and it will last until May 12. On May 1, Valery Anisimov, head of the headquarters of the regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement Immortal Regiment of Russia, told Izvestia.

He noted that, together with Mostransavto, the movement has been holding the Immortal Regiment on Transport campaign for the third year in a row.

"We are posting posters in this form from natives of the Moscow region, people whose fate is connected with our region. <...> This year <...> we also post information about the participants of the special military operation because they <... They are fighting Nazism in the same way as our great—grandfathers," Anisimov said, showing a portrait of a Red Army soldier.

Participants of the Immortal Regiment of Russia NGO and volunteers distribute St. George ribbons on public transport.

On the recommendation of the organization, portraits of participants in the Great Patriotic War, special operations, and home front workers should be placed on personal, official, and public transport from May 1 to May 12, so that a large number of participants can join the action. On a private car, it is recommended to attach portraits to the rear right side window from the inside.

On April 10, Elena Tsunaeva, co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the United Movement, announced that the march of the Immortal Regiment on May 9 would be held in a mixed format, including offline. She noted that this year the action will be held in regions with a sufficient level of security.

In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January 1945, the Soviet army launched an offensive against Berlin. As a result of the fighting, at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed the Act of Unconditional Surrender of Germany, which served as the end of the war.

On the occasion of the anniversary, Izvestia launched a special project "80 days to Victory." It publishes articles from Izvestia during the war, the full list of which can be found in the electronic archive.
