The French politician spoke about the benefits of the United States in the deal with Ukraine

The deal on Ukraine's natural resources will allow Washington to gain financial benefits without having to get involved in Kiev's problems. This was announced on May 1 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.

According to him, the agreement does not provide any security guarantees for Ukraine, and thanks to this, the United States will benefit without incurring additional obligations.

"Contrary to the wishes of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky, [American leader Donald] Trump did not include any "security guarantees" for Kiev. So, thanks to Trump, the United States will receive money without getting bogged down there," the politician wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Philippot also criticized the position of the European Union (EU) and French President Emmanuel Macron, accusing them of embezzling funds to help Ukraine. He said that because of European politics, Paris is losing money and risking the lives of its military.

"As expected, we were made fools of by the EU and Macron! Because of <... After the European sanctions, we have already lost the Russian market, which the Americans will soon return," Philippot added.

Delegation from Kiev goes to Washington

The day before, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington and Kiev had signed an agreement on Ukraine's natural resources. In addition, the countries have concluded a deal on the creation of an investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine, he added.

The next day, DEPUTY Zheleznyak published the text of the memorandum on his Telegram channel, noting that there was no mention of security guarantees for Kiev in the document.
