- Patriotic action "Victory Banner" was held at the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

On May 1, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of Russia (CMVS) in Moscow hosted the military-patriotic action "Victory Banner", during which copies of the state relic of the same name were presented to participants of the May 9 parades in the cities of the Russian Federation.
The original Victory Banner, hoisted on the roof of the German Reichstag building in 1945, is in perpetual storage in one of the halls of the Central Military Academy.
"[Participating in] the Victory Day Parade is a great honor for us, for every serviceman, to represent his troops. Not only the troops, but also the family, and a tribute to the past, a tribute to our veterans, [for] what they <...> we went through the most terrifying war," said Anatoly Ivanov, a participant in the special operation in Ukraine, Hero of Russia.
The servicemen also had the opportunity to inspect the CMVS exposition. Hero of Russia Alexander Ishchenko noted the good organization of the exhibition and drew special attention to the availability of modern weapons and captured weapons in the exhibition halls.
"I am personally very proud that I can represent our army on such a significant date (Victory Day. — Ed.)," he added.
The country's main Victory anniversary parade will traditionally take place on Red Square in Moscow. It will be attended by a number of foreign leaders, including Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Lula da Silva.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, the high-level representation of many countries at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow indicates that they share the importance of the May 9 holiday. In his opinion, Russia has not just allies, but states that are close in spirit and ideology.
