British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's plan to send peacekeeping forces to Ukraine has failed. This was reported on April 30 by the British newspaper The Times.

"Politicians, feeling the hand of history on their shoulder, become victims of bombast — until the harsh reality touches them from the other side. This is exactly what is happening with [the British Prime Minister] right now. Keir Starmer, as he watches his vaunted "coalition of the willing" to deploy powerful European peacekeeping forces in Ukraine evaporate," the publication says.

At the same time, they added that attempts by London and Paris to appeal to other countries to contribute to the project are failing. According to the author of the material, the failure to implement Starmer's idea was understandable from the very beginning.

On April 24, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, noted that the deployment of peacekeeping forces in the historical territories of the Russian Federation could lead to World War III. According to him, in the context of Ukraine, Europe's plans to deploy a military contingent under the guise of peacekeepers are aimed at taking control of the country's territory and resources.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the deployment of Western military contingents in Ukraine was unacceptable to Russia. He also noted that this initiative poses a critical threat to the security of the whole of Europe.

On April 16, Christopher Schnaubelt, former dean of the Alliance's Defense College, said that the deployment of NATO peacekeeping forces in Ukraine seemed unlikely and practically impossible.
