The orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) was increased with the help of the Progress MS-30 spacecraft due to the threat of a collision with space debris. This was announced on Thursday, May 1, by the state Corporation Roscosmos, with reference to the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (TsNIIMash).

"At 01:10 Moscow time, the engines of the Progress MS-30 spacecraft were turned on, which worked for 212.79 seconds and gave an impulse of 0.3 m/s, which increased the ISS orbit by about 540 m," Roscosmos said in a Telegram post.

They added that after the orbit change, the station's rotation period is 92.89 minutes.

Earlier, on April 12, the cosmonauts told Izvestia that every day on the ISS is a huge burden, and in such conditions it is very important to establish a way of life. So, the hero of Russia, cosmonaut Alexander Lazutkin admitted that the first days in zero gravity can be extremely difficult. According to him, he had a severe headache due to the rush of blood to it and it was an extremely unpleasant sensation.
