The court decided to stop the Wintershall proceedings against the Russian Federation abroad

The Moscow Arbitration Court has ordered Wintershall Dea GmbH to temporarily suspend proceedings against the Russian Federation in foreign arbitration.

"To oblige Wintershall Dea GmbH, <...> to suspend the implementation of all procedures related to the continuation or maintenance of the arbitration proceedings of Wintershall Dea GmbH against the Russian Federation," reads the court's decision published in the file of arbitration cases.

At the same time, the court demanded to stop the process before making a final decision on the prosecutor's office's application.

They mean like this: foreign investors may be prohibited from repurchasing company shares

This may affect those industries that affect the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation.

In 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to deprive Wintershall and OMV of their shares in Russian assets. Their shares will be forcibly sold to new Russian owners.
