Russian Ministry of Economic Development says trade turnover with Abkhazia is growing

The level of trade turnover between Russia and Abkhazia has increased by almost 60% in 2024 compared to the indicator of 2020. Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, told Izvestia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Energy canceled the recommendations not to visit it and not to sell tours there.

"The positive economic effect of our interaction is eloquently evidenced by the growth of the main indicators of economic development of Abkhazia. In 2024, the growth of GDP of the republic, compared to 2020, amounted to more than 180%, the growth of average monthly wages in sectors of the economy - about 103%, the growth of own budget revenues of the republic - 150%, trade turnover with Russia increased by almost 60%," - said Volvach.

Russia is a key foreign economic partner of Abkhazia. In 2023 our country accounted for 72% of the trade turnover of the republic.
