Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov congratulated the servicemen of the 1st Guards Sevastopol Red Banner Order of Alexander Nevsky Motorized Rifle Regiment named after the 60th anniversary of the USSR on the liberation of the village of Novoe in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on April 30 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
"The personnel, hacking the enemy's deeply entrenched defenses, skillfully act on the offensive and repeatedly proved in heavy battles that the regiment rightfully bears the honorary name of the Guards," Belousov conveyed in a congratulatory telegram.
For courage and heroism during combat missions, more than 900 soldiers of the regiment were presented with state awards and departmental insignia.
"Andrei Belousov thanked the servicemen for their loyalty to the Motherland, and also expressed confidence that the regiment's personnel would continue to valiantly and courageously achieve the goals of the special military operation and defend Russia's national interests," the military department concluded.
On April 10, a solemn ceremony of awarding the Orders of Suvorov and Zhukov to the 11th Separate Guards Airborne Assault Brigade for heroism, courage and bravery took place in Ulan-Ude. In total, more than 4,500 military personnel of the unit were awarded state and departmental awards, and six paratroopers were awarded the honorary title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
